Bearing rivet cages are an important component in the field of mechanical engineering, and one of the most basic functions of a bearing rivet cage is to support bearing elements, including rollers, balls, sliders, or other rolling/sliding elements. These elements are typically mounted within the bearing housing and are ensured by the rivet cage that they are in the correct position and are able to rotate, roll or slide freely.
Bearing rivet cages help to accurately locate bearing components to ensure that they do not deflect or oscillate during assembly and operation. Accurate positioning is one of the key factors in ensuring that the bearing elements can operate according to design specifications. Bearing rivet cages help maintain accurate bearing alignment by ensuring that the bearing element remains in the correct position and orientation. This prevents the bearing elements from tilting or deflecting, ensures that they share the load evenly, and prevents damage.
By supporting and maintaining bearing elements in the correct position, bearing rivet cages also help to reduce vibration and noise. Incorrect bearing alignment and support can lead to vibration and instability of bearing elements, which can cause noise and erratic operation. Rivet cages reduce these problems by providing stable support.
Rivet cages also play an important role in distributing and transferring loads in the bearing system. When externally applied forces or moments act on the bearing system, the cage distributes these loads evenly across the bearing elements, ensuring that they are able to withstand and transmit these forces effectively.
